Would you like to donate toys/ children's clothing/misc items for charity?

Hello,

I was cleaning my storage this spring and found numerous toys, kids clothes / items that have been sitting there with no good use. I went to the spring sale which was kind of a torture Then, I realized, I am travelling to Lithuania this summer, July, where I know few orphanages with nothing there. I also know there public local kindergadens are so poor with 4 old toys to share between 15 kids. I was born in Lithuania, so well aware of how deep the poverty is there among some families. Then I thought, well here is an opportunity to put all those storage toys/kids clothes and other items to good use. This summer I am planning to visit numerous institution there where things/toys l will be greatly appreciated. If you have spare toys/ baby items/kids clothing that you may like to donate, it will be surely appreciated by some little girl or boy there. I guess as small as my mission is, even if few kids out there will get happier, is worth my effort. Thank you all,

Inga

We are moving back to the States end of the month and have plenty of toys to give away. We are based in Basel. I have a special affection for the Baltic States, so would be happy to help your cause. Please pm for suggested pick up or delivery.

Dear all,
Thank you so much for your responses and generosity to help this cause. I am travelling right now , but will be back in Zurich on Monday. I am planning to answer each one of your emails individually and schedule drop off/pick up. I am leaving in July so will ship things periodically in June and then visit children in July/August. If this works out well, I may do this annually I have to prepare space for storage before I repack and ship them to Lithuania. I will probably take things throughout June and shipments will be sent out every Saturday and Monday in June and my folks will help on the other end. This is my first try Well, will contact all of you next week and we will work out the dates. Thank you again! I feel so good knowing there are so many great people out there to take some precious time and do this

Hi,

I think this is just a wonderful thing to do! and I'd like to donate some things too, but I'm not sure what you can take, I presume that everything would need to be in perfect condition, but would you accept DVDs and big toys like prams and scooters and things like that?

Update on donating kid's items for Lithuanian orphanage

Hello all,

Thank you for all your responses. So far I had two lovely ladies donate to Lithuanian kids. I got an email from few orphanages and have scheduled to go to couple of them. One of them is more teen , older kids ( 4-18 years) who are orphans. I don 't really have any teen stuff: games, clothes. If you have something to donate for teenagers , that would be great. They have some kids 4, 5 and 6 years old a swell. the other orphanage will have babies. I am still waiting to hear from them. Again, thank you all for your good hearts!

Inga Ivsan

P.s. I will try to collect from those who are unable to drop in Kilchberg

There are about 100+ orphanages in Lithuania, which only has 3,5 million people and is the size of West Virginia and every year, about 3000 children join these institutions, I hope we all can help some of them.

Hi

Not sure if this is what you are after, but I had loads of old clothes - some of it might interest Teens if they are into retro.... But seriously, ignoring the work stuff there are some skirts and tops that might be of interest.

Hi there ...
I am in Zug and in the process of clearing out the kids toys. Have some clothes and shoes as well if you want. Been wondering where I can donate to. If you are still able / interested on collecting please let me know.

Inga, it was great meeting you and am currently raiding my wardrobe. Will definitely pm you soon with regards to clothes and books for the teenage orphans as I dont have anything for kids.

To the rest of you: I had a short chat with Inga on Sat after delivering a suitcase and I really admire her spirit, dedication and generosity in helping these orphans. If you have anything lying around that you think will benefit those kids, especially those in Zürich, pm me and I am also happy to help gather them and deliver to Inga as she is only about 20 minutes drive away from me.

Re: Would you like to donate toys/ children's clothing/misc items for charity?

I would like to THANK ALL of you sooo much for your contributions. I would have not be able do much alone. I have sent out 6 suitcases already and have 7 more bus trips to attend before I fly to Lithuania myself. This is my first time organizing it, so I am very anxious to go and meet poor kids myself. I especially enjoyed meeting all of you when dropping some toys or clothes. It is such a pleasure to encounter so many wonderful people out here. I will keep everyone updated once I am back in August. I think I have enough for my first mission. Again, THANK YOU!!!

Have a great Sunday, everyone!!

Inga
