| Hello,
I'm sure this has been reviewed before, I apologize.
We do not have a car, so Leymen & St. Louis look to be the most easy towns to access for shopping. (By tram).
What grocery stores are there? Are they easy to find?
How much can we bring back without being taxed at customs? We plan on going once a week for 7 days worth of food for 2 people.
Thank-you everyone! | |

We go often to France, to St-Gingolph or Lugrin, to buy food. The shops post the customs limits. Page 89 of the following Ordonnance 916.01 lists the duty-free franchise for each kind of agricultural product per person:
http://www.admin.ch/ch/f/rs/9/916.01.fr.pdf The list is repeated in more user-friendly form here:
http://www.ezv.admin.ch/zollinfo_pri...x.html?lang=fr There is also a monetary limit, CHF 300:

This site suggests that there is reasonable shopping at St-Louis:

Here's a forum where shopping across the border in France is discussed:
