Gym on German side of Basel?

Anyone know of a cheap weight-lifting gym on the German side of Basel?

Or, alternatively, where would I search online and what German-language search keywords would be best?

I'm guessing that's a better bet than looking for a cheap weight-lifting gym in Basel itself.

Re: Gym on German side of Basel?

Even the German-language search keywords would be a help - Should I just for "gymnasium" in the Yellow Pages?

"Fitness" would be good Denglish (Deutsch+English) search word. Most gyms go under that name. There are quite a few just across the border, A quick search for them in Weil gives the following:

Heldelingerstrasse 4-6

Telefon: 07621 / 79 96 71 Internet: www.fitness-weil.de

I expected them to be cheaper since it didn't seem possible for them to be more expensive than the gyms I've checked out in Basel. But maybe it's the same either way.

Thanks so much. How did you find these? Is this just a Google search or are you using some online yellow pages type of service?

Actually, if you look at this site:

http://www.fitness-weil.de/

They charge 276/yr - which is what I was quoted for 1 month (!) in Basel - so, YES!, this is much cheaper!

You do realize that it's Euros in Germany right? Still cheaper, but I would be curious what fitness club is charging 400 CHF per month.

Not 400 CHF per month but Forum Sports Club in Basel charges around 200 CHF per month. That seems high to me.
