G-star stuff is a good example... I got an awesome jacket for £110, it was 450 CHF in the Swiss shop. Jeans are also regularly 250-300CHF in the shop here, in the UK they vary from £60-£100 in the sale. Goi Goi is also much cheaper in the UK than in Manor/Globus.
I wonder how much the current exchange rates contributes to the price difference?

There are absolutely loads between CH and the rest of Europe, especially France, Germany and Italy. Here is a not all-inclusive list in French, if you Google on line shops/boutique in German and Italian, you should get the same.

After taking a look through, not only can I not find many bargains, but also only a small few of the regular brands I shop. I can't see anything that would make me change my current shopping habits.

I wouldn't for one minute suggest you change your current shopping, what on earth would make you say something like that? You asked me for Swiss internet shops (good being subjective) I gave them to you, that's all. Fashion tastes are different depending on ones age and nationality, what Europeans like, the Brit may not, and vice versa.

You're welcome.

I was just commenting that there is nothing from the Swiss shops you linkd that would draw me away from ASOS etc, and I mentioned it because you were advocating the Swiss boutiques. It was a harmless observational comment, breathe deeply and relax before you give yourself a turn.

What about
http://www.dress-for-less.ch
Apparently good if you want to buy things like Tommy Hilfiger shirts. My husband shops there a lot for such things (not tried it myself as I'm in the "like to try it on" camp.)

My wife has bought a few things from there and the service has been good and she has re-ordered a few times so there's a second recommendation.

Re: ASOS.com... Customs/Import Tax every time or not?

This is really interesting as as ASOS devotee at home. I have only oreder twice online to Switzerland and have been hit both times by customs - once to the tune of 200 CHF (albeit it was for a chair) and once for an amazon purchase.

As a newbie I didn't realise that not all overseas packages go through and get caught up in customs.

This has put me off but am I right to understand that this is a bit of a hit and miss affair?

Or will I definitely get charged customes but could still be saving depending on savings on site?

Thanks for more info
C

Re: ASOS.com... UK fashion + UK prices + £5 shipping to CH = good.

Don't bother with ASOS.
I ordered stuff, tried it on and sent it back...no problem with the refund.
Then got stung with bill from DHL for IVA+admin fees. End up paying 62CHF for nothing. They should mention this when you buy...
ASOS...never again.

Re: ASOS.com... UK fashion + UK prices + £5 shipping to CH = good.

Ok, shipping is now free and - I love ASOS. Partly because their "Plus Size" section is too large even for me, I've actually asked them to consider starting the plus size stuff at a 16 as I love the stuff and many of the "normal" designs are just soooo short. I've ordered dresses, t-shirts, a skirt, shoes - all have been great and since I managed to stay under the 65 franc mark, no tax. They've got a 70% off sale on at the moment by the way.

Little tip - don't be tempted to change the currency to Euros, it works out cheaper if you leave it in GBP.

Happy shopping!

Re: ASOS.com... UK fashion + UK prices + £5 shipping to CH = good.

Hi there, about to order a few summer dresses with the coupon code asos is now advertising. Does anyone know the limit to have it delivered in Switzerland without having to pay VAT? I read somewhere under 100CHF and you are clear from all VAT/duty taxes. Is it worth ordering separate orders and keep things under 100CHF? I really do not want to have to pay 30-50CHF when these things show up at my door, especially if I have to return something in the end.

Thanks in advance!

62 CHF. Normally, ANY parcel must be taxed, but if an estimated TVA (VAT) not exceed 5 CHF - your parcel 'd not be taxed. I order a lot & just twice TVA(& custom broker' fee too) was paid, both payments were known BEFORE delivery and I was prepared to pay it. Simple checking of www.swisspost.ch will give you an exceptional data in this subject.

Good shopping!

BTW my orders from Amazon' group, aka Endless.com, Javari.de & etc. were received w/o broker fees, the reason is that this company has personal one and you might choose fast delivery method that includes pretaxation but prevent from this broker fee.

These threads have it all:

Anne Summers + Swiss Postal MWSt tax charge!

A legal solution to avoid customs charges ( DE, FR, IT, AT delivery addresses )

Yes. But didn't get any customs bill. In any case, it was under the threshold.

I received my order last week, it was a bit less than 100 chf and i paid about 35 for customs. Still it was worth it (there was a sale and i bought a stupid amount of little black dresses for about 7 pounds each)
