Salt and Vinegar crisps - at Last!

just been to the airport to do some emergency Sunday shopping and bought some Salt and Vinegar crisps from the Migros there.

They're Migros' own brand 'Selection' and they're 'Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar Chips'. Never mind the pretentious name, they're bloody good.

Expensive though, at 5.80 for a 150g bag but better than not being available.

I haven't seen them in other Migros stores but then again I don't do much shopping there. I will definitely check out my local one in the future though.

You can get Walkers crisps in some of the local "English" pubs such as Big Ben West Side.

Theres also a sweet place called Lollipops in the airport (on the way to Terminal 1) where you can get some American sweets such as Reese's cups and Hershey bars - I remember a couple of American posters asking about them.

Actually, what struck me is how sad it is that you have to go to the airport in order to grab some groceries on a Sunday!

Yep, 'Sunday Shopping' is a pain in the posterior. Only two places really open - main railway station and airport.

At least they've upgraded the shopping facilities in the airport, though they could still be better. And of course, the parking fees are a killer. I paid 5CHF for something like a half hour.

excuse me but dont you find it rather odd to live in a country that you have to go to the airport to do your shopping on a Sunday ..

I somehow cant imagine my friends queing up in JFK or LH so they can get some chips and other stuff...ok guys , you definetly put a huge smile on my face on this rather dull Sunday night.. cheers..

Re: Salt and Vinegar crisps - at Last!

Ok, sea salt and balsamic vinegar crisps have been availble in CH for ages through Kettel Crisps (Jelmoli, Globus, St Annehof used to sell them too). But pricey...

As for going to the airport, what about Bahnhof Enge (big Migros) Bahnhof Stadelhofen (big Coop) and lets not forget Hauptbahnhof! But in general I think shops should be open on a sunday...

Re: Salt and Vinegar crisps - at Last!

I used to get my Walkers Crisps fix from the beer store in Shopville, around CHF 2 per bag. Haven't been there for a few years now so I'm not sure if they still have them.
