Hi all......I have just finished reading a book called Swiss Watching by Diccon Bewes...Its in English!!!..... and I have to say it was brilliant! So many of his observations are things that have happend to me in the 9 months I have lived here... I would love to hear comments from anyone else that has read it...Karl
I am reading the book right now. The amusing light-hearted style which IS enjoyable cannot cover the fact that there must have been a heavy and decent research work behind the book

Re: New book "Swiss Watching" by Diccon Bewes

Will have to look out for it, or borrow it if poss.
Red shoes??? More like red dyed hair- why middle-aged Swiss women think it will make them look younger really baffles me! (and I am Swiss!).

New to, or Visiting Switzerland

Hi everyone,

I would just like to share a book that i have just read by a Diccon Bewes, called Swiss Watching (Inside Europe's Landlocked Island).

When i first arrived in Switzerland, the people i thought were relatively cold and unhelpful, now i just see them as shy and reserved. The book (although generally based on his opinion and Swiss History) does give you a good insight into the people, politics and history in quite a humorous way.

I would recommend it to anyone who is now living in Switzerland and those thinking of coming over.

Thanks

Simon

Maybe it's me, but I read it and was distinctly underwhelmed.

Probably is me, actually.
