Re: What to have for Dinner?

i'm soooo with you...

i bought a book (yes i'm sure the net is better, but cookbooks are just more practical for everyday...) that helps me a lot - it has a monthly menu calendar with a shopping list attached - it worked great...if i can just get my hemispheres sorted and decide which month we're in, haha!

(something like this...)

so what's for dinner tonight?!

Re: What to have for Dinner?

I am home maker too and used to be bogged when my mom would ask me what we wanted to eat sometimes. Its not hard to be a vegetarian in India coz there is so much variety in the food. You could experiment with Indian cooking once in a while. Its really not that complicated. For some Indian cooking ideas you could look up http://showmethecurry.com/.
I also make some hearty soups for dinner sometimes. Else, salad + bread + grilled veggies / cheese also works once in a while.

Re: What to have for Dinner?

There is a "Jamie Oliver" i-phone app you can get which gives you a recipe, downloads a shopping list, and shows you a film of him preparing the food. Very useful if you're in the supermarket and stuck without a clue !

Re: What to have for Dinner?

why not make some sort of quiche? The base dough you can buy at the shops (blatterteig) steam some veg, then whisk up 1.5dl voll creme, 1.5 dl milk, 3 eggs, a bit of salt & pepper and maybe a pressed garlic or 2. Bake for a 1/2 hr @ 200°.

How did you know that my husband is Indian as well? We get the best indian food when we go home as his mum is vegetarian as well!

Helpful tips from everyone thanks! I decided on the dressed tomato caprese salad and potatoes au gratin with lemon butter garlic salmon! Hopefully everything turns out tasty! Part due to some websites on here, creativity and luck.. haha En Guete!
