Has anybody had a tattoo removed ? Was there a scar or could it only be removed partly ?

Doc. | | | | | No but i can recommend a good makeup to cover it up alot cheaper and less painful than removing them |

I dont have any tattoos, and I'm not getting any, before I am 100% sure, that I can get rid of it again with a satisfying result.

why oh why do people assume that the only reason to get tattooed is because it's "cool"? |

I think it depends upon where you want it placed really.
If you want it someplace which you can expect with relative certainty will retain it's shape long into your future, I wouldn't worry too much. Places like calves, ankles, shoulders, wrists and forearms quite often remain fairly much the same as we age so IF you want something there, do it and don't worry (much).
On the other hand, if you want something on your tummy, hip, chest, upper arm, thigh or butt AND think you'll hate it if it stretches or sags as you age, don't do it.
Meanwhile, some spots are "trendy" and also have some lifestyle associations such as the "tramp stamp" or "whale tail"... the tatt that typically is on the lower back dipping down toward the cheek cleft. I wouldn't do that as it does have that "slutty" connotation AND is (was ) quite trendy. While some think it is sexy (I do, as long as the person has - and maintains - a good figure for it), others simply see it as slutty. If you have any worry that a potential future mate will find it questionable, I'd avoid it if I were you.

Doc. | | | | | Yes. A small black one. I had laser removal sessions. I had enough sessions to make it faint enough to have another tat put over the top. There was no scarring and it would have gone completely with further sessions.
Certain colours are a lot harder to remove.

Tattoos are not logical - they are emotional and mean something to that person who's got it done. I've always been fascinated by tattoos and some have stories behind them which I always love to hear. I am getting one and I know why I've chosen mine.
If someone's going to judge you because of that tattoo, they are not worth your time of day anyway. Go for it if you really want to.

As I understand the skin is very flexible and slowly decends from top to bottom. So if you have a great art work on your hip it will slowly blur and drop to look a messy smudge on your bum. Am I right? And then what is the point? Jewelry is much better looking. I am old, but I just cannot connect with making yourself ugly, because it is fashionable.

When considering a tattoo, the first thing should be: - Don't get a tattoo unless it's something that has some actual meaning to you and something that you won't hate seeing on your body in 25 or 30 years. So, no boyfriend/girlfriend names, no Sweet/Sour, no Love/Hate, no Mighty Mouse, and please please please don't get anything even vaguely Ed Hardy looking (there's a reason they stopped making tattoos that looked like that in the 1950s).
The next consideration should be: - Where should I put this thing? If you have or MAY have the sort of job where people will look down on your for showing a tattoo, then put it some place that is well hidden (because they WILL look down on you if they see it, and it WILL affect your career and all sorts of relationships with some people).
Your final thought should be about : - Price. You're going to be wearing this piece of 'jewelry' for a long time so save up for the best & most beautiful one you can afford. After you've decided you desperately want a tattoo more than anything in the world, then wait another 6 months (while saving money for a good quality tat) and then start looking for the best artist you can find.
Cheers, and good luck with the ink!

Another tacky tattoo joke for yez!
A woman goes to the tattoo artist and asks if he can tattoo a butterfly on each of her bum cheeks. he says 'I'm not very good at butterflies but I'm good at bees.' 'OK then,' she says.
That night in the bedroom, when she's naked and bending down pulling off her stockings, her husband says.....'WHO THE F's BOB!'

It's like having an elastic band slapped on you with every laser shot. The session only lasts about 10-15mins. And the laser shots are fast and furious | | This user would like to thank kevlegs for this useful post: | | |
