Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

My wife told me that there was a gentleman wearing a bikini near Paradeplatz a couple of weeks ago.

It was a skimpy bikini at that - his tackle was hanging out.

It might be a little cold for him now but has anyone else seen this Baywatch Beauty?

Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

My friend was in the curry house in Migros City some time ago have a quick lunch, and this woman sat alone at a table nearby, stark naked. The waiters went apoplectic when they notice and threw her out , and they could then be seen in the kitchen trying to scrub the chair her naked behind had occupied...

My favorite is the old man that plays the painted piano some weekends on Bellevue tram stop. He's so cute! And not so bad.

Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

re. speedo wearing rollerblade dude:

OMG - there is more than one?
When I lived in Amsterdam there was a g-string wearing rollerblader, very tanned, very "old-leather-hand-bag" kinda look.
He scared the bejeebez out of my boyfriend when he encountered him for the first time ... I think I had so gotten used to him that I forgot to mention an almost naked rollerblader in front of my house every morning

And re. the clothes question:
THIS ONE was always just toting a g-string... in winter he'd grease up and if it was really cold he'd wear a beanie (on his head) ... so if the Zurich one is anything like that, it will be an admirable display come January...

Or maybe not so admirable if you know what I mean

Can we cover Rollerblading Speedo-sporting Body-painted Dude in this thread too?
That's a good question... I searched on this site and couldn't find anything out about him. eg:
- Is he Swiss?
- Does he speak English? He seems to have English slogans written on him from time to time, which I guess answers my own question...
- Is he a bit "special needs"?
- Is he on something? His motor skills / coordination seem to be ok.
- Has anybody actually had a conversation with him?
- Is he from Zurich or does he commute into town?
- Anyone seen him in a suit?
- Are there any patterns to his movements? eg lunchtimes, after work, ...
- He may do a lot of rollerblading exercise but he's still carrying a few extra pounds...

Just curious. He's one of the local fixtures.

Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

Hi

Cool thread!

I'm not completely sure but some years ago there was a small TV documentary about her.

I have seen the nearly naked guy on skates (In summer and in winter). There is also a skater event that floods some streets, in my case, it's a nice impression to suddenly see the wave of skaters and remember that a hole year? has gone

What about the guy that plays music at Terminal B? It seems that he has a friend that newly plays at the Shopping center terrace

At Zürich HB (normally at noon) it was possible to hear a very nice and clear woman voice that spoke the information about "Zürich Ihre nächste Anschlüsse..."

Best Regards

I guess we can - but does anyone have a photo of the rollerblading dude?
Found this one on Flickr. That was a real photo opportunity because he never seems to stop moving.

Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

I see the rollerblade dude at least once a week. There is also another weirdo/drunk with long hair, always gets on tram 3 at HB and asks for money, argues with people. Funny, how the Swiss people take BS from him. Nobody does anything. He tried to argue something with me(I can't speak a word fo German) so I pushed him away and he hasn't approached me since.

Her story was one described in the Tages-Anzeiger, but I do not remember it all. I only know she is there to bless (? In german: segnen) all the people...

Here's a picture of the old lady of HB with a tourist who wanted his pic taken with her when I told him she was famous.

Aww, she is so cute. I always look whether I can see her when I cross Hauptbahnhof, she's just part of the place for me.

She is almost always there. Some times she is asleep, sometimes she is awake and smiling at people. Usually she hangs out near in between the meeting point and the announcement board. Frequently she has her door mat spread out in front of her wheel chair.

Who is this mystery woman? Does anybody know her story?

i saw her too...but sometimes she is not alone... there is a younger woman with her...

he is always asking me for money...almost like....3-4 times per week...
i speak German but i always answer in English and say that i don't have money or that i don't understand him...
he is very persistent though...maybe because of my baby-naive-looking-like-face

but i think he is taking drogs...not alcohol

Oh FFS man! You've got a camera and a video on your Handy haven't you? How old was she?

Dismissed!

The waiters are a bit perverted aren't they? Were they smelling the seat?

And BTW, am I the only one who remembers this same woman at the HB when she "lived" in the Airport? Or is that another woman?

Re: Swiss Mystery #5: who is that nice old woman at Zurich HB?

I've come back here to Zurich recently and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the lady in the station. Exactly the same as the last time I saw her five years ago... and even then I'd been seeing her on and off for some years previous... and we recognized waiters and other "characters", e.g. the rollerblade guy... never seen him with more than tiny shorts, and I'm impressed he's still alive.
