Going out and where to start

I arrive in Zurich a week ago, I like here , but I feel so lost and a little bit lonely...I was looking for a health club close to Voltastrasse or in the centre, that does not cost a small fortune to be a member...and that also offer activities (no just look after) for kids, as gym, swimming lesons, etc...But I could not find anything. Seems like in London are much more kid focus.
Anyway....
I know at the start is always hard..so I need to wait to see if I can do some friends ....but being a nanny ....is hard...you always with kids or other nannies, which is great but I am very open person and like to meet lot differnet people. I am studing Nutricion by the Thames Valley University in London, I also ove theatre, cinema, go to nice restaurants, visit places, music, etc.Sooooooo, Please, everyone, recommend me places to go out, theatre, art, anything that anybody have been and think "this is great"... But at the moment can not be romantic places or places I have to go with somebody else.

Thanks
carla

I don't have any advice but I understand what you mean, so I've sent you an email. The first weeks/months in Switzerland are tough when you are single...

Google Zurich, look for the tourist board site, you should have plenty coming up and search on this forum, plenty of tips for things to do in Zurich, we had a thread about it just a few days ago.
