I've looked at various threads on this Forum, but I cannot put all the information together.
Does anyone know of a Zurich based Specialist who I can go to help me get setup. I am also looking for a reliable accountant who can handle all my UK/Swiss finances.

I work for a UK based Company and am employed in the UK, for the last couple of years I have spent 120 days per year in Zurich on the relevant permit, and I now want to Zurich/Switzerland my home. I want to work for my current UK company but with the costs involved they won't make me an employee in Zurich. However they would consider using me as a contractor if I setup up my own company or go self employed.

I am a UK citizen, resident in the UK paying UK taxes
I am engaged to an Austrailian citizen who has a C Permit in Zurich.
We will be getting married late 2008 early 2009.

Hi Mark,

I am in a very similar situation to you. My understanding is that you need at least 3 clients if you would like to become self employed (to satisfy the AHV people).

You have the potential to be much better off than you were being employed in the UK.
