I blame the parents .
The Spanish youth is very wrong with the crisis there is a lost generation and a great part of them just think about partying and drinking until they drop, also must be added that the economic situation for Spain is lamentable for a long time.

The Spanish youth has always done this. They said the same thing in the late 80s. Then when the world economy recovered so did the Spanish economy.

Try some insurance or reinsurance companies e.g. Infrassure.com always seem to be looking for engineers.

Re: I need help to find civil engineer job

I ask, because if you spoke french, my company is hiring. But it's not such a big company that it's hiring non-french speakers.

Why do you ask it?. No, we only have an intermediate level of English and we should learn German, French or both. Ideally, we could incorporate into a job that would give us the possibility to take intensive courses in French or German or both.
We are thinking about being parents and we are not willing to have our children grow up in Spanish society and the situation they will encounter as teenagers, because we have lost all the values we had when we were younger and do not want that for our children.

What is so wrong in wanting to find a better life for yourself ?

We all want this in one way or another.
Well, since noone else has answered you, I will

There's absolutely nothing wrong about wanting a better life for oneself.

However, reading the OP, it reminded me of those "friends" we all have who join the group for a meal out, eat and drink as much as everyone else, then excuse themselves a wee bit early and leave 30chf to cover "their share", but their share (surprise!) turns out to be significantly more than they left, i.e. eat drink and be merry but leg it before the bill arrives, and let someone else sort out the deficit...

There are not so many civil engineer jobs in Switzerland really.
Maybe you could talk to Luis & the two of you can set up a firm together.

Go to Switzerland and look for a job?

It would be great, but dificult to turn into reality

You surprise me! I thought Switzerland had many companies designing bridges and tunnels.

That´s what I thanked before, and I have a Master Degree in Underground structures (tunnels).
I'm trying, trying and nothing...
Now I'm improving my German with classes.

Ittigen might say there are lots of engineering firms in Switzerland but as you see there are not so many jobs, especially if you don't speak the local languages. And I think many of them are small. Maybe he will come back and give you more suggestions. Perhaps he has a list of them since he worked with them.

Have you received any feedback at all? Are you only focusing on Switzerland? I think you may need to broaden your search area. Although personally, I'd be happy to move to Portugal myself! One day!!

My cousin in Lisbon specializes in bridges, iirc. So I know you are not my cousin! :P

Continued good luck with your search!

Hello, the feedback I receive is always the same, they have found a person with skills more appropriated for the job or (the major) they need someone with good German skills.

Good luck for you too

Re: I need help to find civil engineer job

Just a few contractor companies I've recently heard of (you need to speak french!):
Geneva area - LMT SA (formerly or aka Orllati SA)
Geneva area - Injectobohr (they don't have a website)
Neufchatel - Marti Travaux Spéciaux (MTS SA)
Countrywide - Steiner

Maybe it's useful for you. I heard LMT is looking to recruit "directeur de travaux"/"techniciens".

Don't contact me, I don't work there, so please contact them directly.
