Ours always seemed to be off on 'training' junkets. Since we never saw them except occasionally at all-hands meetings where they'd put on the smiley-happy face and explain how the latest benefits cut was actually a great thing for you, one is left to wonder if the 'training' was in things unrelated to benefitting the employees, e.g.: how to cut 10% of your workforce without a riot, how to use office furniture to protect the executive suite, new phrases for "You're fired" etc etc.
The one we have here is like a one-woman police force: enforcing her unwritten rules on the helpless populace including such things as 'tsk-ing' about your clothing or your slouching and terrorizing the managers to make sure that all hands show up at all events organized by her and that might reflect poorly on her if half the staff stayed in their offices and tried to get work done instead.
