short question: my GF living in Germany wants to work here in Zurich in a PR agency. interview is coming up next week.
its a rather small enterprise, but nice clients and projects. she has Uni degree, 11 years of work experience,
4 years of which she has worked as PR Assistant.

the profile is a perfect match, the job is set up on a 70% level with option to be raised to 80, 90 or 100%

i suggested at 70% a range between 4800-5500 chf.

what do you think?

is that too low?

id say it is to high at 70%. 6000 ish at 100% is what they made in my previous company

If she is coming from Germany the salary will be lower. This is the reason why the f... Swiss employers import staff from Germany and France.

Second, don't be fooled by the option, it will never augment, my wife was told the same.

i am from grmany as well. after a couple of weeks i found in a drawer a letter with the annual raise of wage for my former job holder which was lower than mine i started with. if french or germans are hired for lower wage, it their fault that they dont know the range.

ok, so ill suggest rather 4200-4500?

a 100% position at coop as refiller is between 3500 to 4500 chf ( i have heard)
a friend earns 4500 chf at 100% at a hotel as a service maid in kanton schwyz. all with no matura or uni.

PR assistants are ten a penny in Zurich. My friends in PR are getting anxious there are so many Germans coming into PR here as their German language skills (!) often impresses Frau or Herr Schwyzer. The problem is, here isn't Germany and more and more PR agencies are realising the 'one size fits all' mindset ain't working. Unless the agency is based outside of Switzerland, of course...

However, PR Tüssis Assistants tend to be young or useless media planers seeking a gear change, so get her to highlight her 11+ years of experience and degree. CHF5000 would be optimistic for 70% but she's not 20, and a decent agency will recognise this.
