I am an undergrad from Singapore who will be going for an exchange semester in spring 2012 at St Gallens. After that I wish to stay on to do an internship in Zurich in June 2012.
I was wondering of the possibility of securing an internship as soon as possible because I need to plan my shedule/flight for next year. From the forums it was mentioned credit suisse and ubs have internship programs in Switzerland. However I was wondering if I would be disadvantaged because I am a foreigner, and do not speak German.
With that regard, I am willing to work any finance/accountancy related firm, so as long as the firm is willing to accept me. I am doing a double degree in Finance and Accountancy in my home university.
Anybody has any advice / contact to give me? Thanks
I heard from a friend in CS (some years) said they usually only hire swiss residents/EU citizens as interns..
But I have a non-EU friend got a 6 months internship in UBS, she applied through a local agency in her home country tho
For starting in June, I would just start sending CV already.. Im sure all these companies have experiences on receiving foreigner's internship applications.
Could you mention some of these international internship companies?
I have looked into a local/international agency, but I would like to do some direct person-to-person/company applying. Anything technical/engineering (not CS)?
perhaps search for job openings on local jobs sites, not saying to apply the jobs on site but just to get the company's name/link/contact person and send them an email for your application..
