It really depends if the companies support it. One would hope that they have no reason not to....
An interesting point is that some agencies do not even give names of apoplicants to the client, and certainly not their address. So to be honest you could simply use a nom-de-plume until they client really wants you. It is more difficult for them to backtrack then...
