Hello everyone! I'm searching for a primary school teaching position (preferably to start soon, but more realistically for Fall 2012). I've previously worked at international schools under the IB curriculum and my M.Ed and teaching credentials are from the U.S. (I'm certified as an elementary school teacher and Art teacher.)

I've been doing tons of research online but want to ask for some of your collective wisdom here...

Can anyone recommend international schools that would be open to new teachers? (I'm wondering about new schools such as Lake Leman International School). I live in Lausanne and plan to be applying to schools between Geneva and Montreux.

I would also be interested in teaching Preschool (age 4-5) and wonder what the equivalent would be here.

Finally, can anyone recommend places that offer art or design classes for children and are open to new teachers? (I speak French but would prefer to teach in English.)

At our International school pre school is called "early years 1 and 2 (ages 3-5) ".

Most schools have their job openings on their website so you should start there!

Maybe check this Swiss School System for ideas about pre-Schooling. As you know, it all varies from place to place...

As for preschools, it looks like they could be described as jardin d'enfant, garderie, ecole enfantine, kindergarten, reception, early years foundation stage....depending on the curriculum the school's adapted and of course, depending on the canton.

I would also check out the site http://www.avdep.ch/ to make sure the school you apply to is part of the group.

A lot of international schools do have english early years programs but some of them may want you to board.
