| If I was the hiring manager at Company A, and I was interested in you as a candidate, I would love to know that you were about to be poached by Company B. Please, call me, email me, fax me, feel me up on the bus (well ok maybe not that) or whatever, to let me know that you would REALLY prefer to come work with me. Then I too would be motivated to get you an answer.
If however, I am hiring manager at Company A, and I'm not seriously considering you as a candidate, and you call me and tell me that you have an offer from Company B but would prefer to come work with with me, then I will tell you rather openly that you should take the opportunity already presented to you and come up with some bullshit excuse about why I can't tell you where the hiring process is at the moment.
Either way, for YOU to get in touch with Company A seems like a win-win from my point of view. If Company A frowns on having dialogue... well then... why would you want to work for them, especially if Company B wants you? | |

Thanks K,
I like this way u put this. Given the fact that the hiring manager has not been able to make it to work wont make me stop from letting the company A know the status quo. Will wait until tomorrow and if not, I will call the FPM.
I will take ur advice, which i believe makes more sense. Cheers on that
