UK Citizen, Seeking advice.

Hello everybody,

I registered and been reading posts for past few weeks to get an idea on how it is to apply for jobs, procedure and tax etc:

I have a Swiss girlfriend and I would like to move to Zurich in 08/2013.

I am doing Masters in Mechanical Engineering and I am willing to learn German language in next 1.5 years.

I am not applying for jobs just yet, I am a bit scared because when I search for jobs, its usually specialists and experienced engineers which are sought after in Zurich.

I have 0 years of experience. I am expected to get a 2:1 and maybe even 1st class.

I would be grateful if you can advise me on how to proceed in this next 1.5 years and will it be really possible for me to move to Zurich?

I have read few posts about ABB and Alstom but most posts were about experienced engineers negotiating salary.

Thanks for reading

James

Re: UK Citizen, Seeking advice.

What about something like this grad. program at ABB, perhaps after completing it you could get a permanent position with them....

Most employers here scan http://www.linkedin.com/ to find good staff. I would recommend you look at joining linkedin and paste your CV and photo there, it is a free service to you. Another good site, with tips and advice, is www.jobs.ch
