| Jobserve.com is still pretty good for Switzerland. There is actually a recurring advert that has been coming up every three months seeking an automation tester.
I gather they are hiring people, then firing them three months later because they've decided they "don't fit in" (i.e. you'll be working under a psychopath who is impossible to get on with, but bearable for short-term, and you're going to be fired anyhow).
On the other hand, IT testing jobs in CH is currently a disaster zone. Many of the big firms are bringing in people from off-shore, India, Ukraine, on so-called "training contracts" which differ from the contracts we used to get in two ways:-
- addition of the word "training"
- 90% reduction in salary.
The work they do is otherwise exactly the same as we used to.
So if you're willing to compete against people who are going to work for less than it costs you to eat, to work for companies who know they can totally ignore Swiss employment law simply by entering one word into the contract, and to be insulted by recruitment consultants who will call you up and make you "offers" that involve you working 42 hours to get paid less money that you would get from social security, then go for it. | |
