That is indeed what i heard too and i guess to some extent it is true in that it completely depends on the profiles you are aiming for. for profiles that cater to the local market, i would even now think that language indeed would be a singnificant factor. I applied directly to the firms that can use my expertise and i can PM you those firms if you are interested. There is also an excellent thread here giving the list of companies where English is the language used as well as a list of recruiters.
Thank you so much for the information. It will be very kind of you if you can mail me the details of the firms to my Mail id: yeshaswini.hr@gmail.com

Re: Four interviews in 3 weeks - should I be happy?

Not to diverge too much but I found this thread quite inspiring as I have recently moved to Zurich from California, and just began my job search this week. The only problem is; I am a Televsion Producer with 15yrs plus experience and while I realize this is not a 'media' city like LA or NY, I was wondering if anyone had any insight where I can begin my search. I want to use my writing skills and production skills. I've launched over 6 shows, so I am trying to find something creative and also centered around "event-planning."

I am learning high-german, but right now I speak only English.

Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated!!

Jennifer
