How to find a simple summer job with very basic DE ?

Hey there,

I found this website and got really happy when I saw all the jobs that are posted here. What made me less happy though, is that you need a bachelor or whichever higher level education to get one of those nice jobs

I am moving to Zurich for just 3 months time in the summer 2012 and I would like a rather simple job for that time (bartender, assistent, whatever). Is there anyone who can help me find a place where I could find such a job? Like a website, or anything?

I only speak very basic German. I do, however, speak fluent English, Spanish and Danish.

And another question. What are the chances even of getting a job, when I don't speak fluent German?

Welcome - well where I live you don't need German at all, French is a must though. And where Tom lives, no German either, but Italian is essential. Can you speak Romanche?

Joking aside, well done for asking so early. Many come here and ask for a Summer job in June and they haven't got a hope in hell. Why not look up an area you fancy, Google the local hotels and restaurants, and apply direct? Or maybe get in touch with the Swiss Youth Hostel association, as they always need extra staff during the Summer season. Bonne chance.

Hello and welcome!
Well, if you have blond hairs, blue eyes and muscles I could thinking about having a personal trainer ...but
on a more serious note: try the Swiss youth hostel www.youthhostel.ch

Good luck!

I don't have much experience within the training area, unless road biking is something that would interest you. - or learning Spanish for that matter.

Thanks a lot for the help.
