RAV - change from full-time to part-time

Hi,
I have searched on the forum and on the internet and have been unable to find an answer to this so wondering if someone here may be able to help or point me in the right direction.
I am currently with RAV (after losing my job when my maternity leave finished) and looking for full time work. I enjoy being with my child and am now thinking I would rather go back to work part-time rather than full time (if I can find something suitable). Does anyone know how the "number of days" of unemployment paid is affected. Currently I am entitled to 400days but am i still entitled to this number of days (ie. is the time extended) or does the 400 days become 'pro-rata'.
Hope that makes sense and thanks for your help
Giraffe

Re: RAV - change from full-time to part-time

from what i understand, the 400 days entitlement is related to how much you paid in, and not to what you're looking for, so there should be no change.

but of course if you formally declare your change of heart, they may feel entitled to delve deeper into the hows and whys of it..

Re: RAV - change from full-time to part-time

400 days which is approximately 18 months over 2 years. If you were to take a part time job paying you under your insured salary (70 or 80%) you will be topped up (70 or 80%) of your difference to your previous salary.

Earning upto 69% or 79% with children will get topped up, earning 70% or 80% will not be topped up as you are earning at least as much as your insured salary.

Any payout is devided by your theroetical 'day rate' and those days are deducted from the 400 days entitlement.

After 2 years you may be entitled to unemployment pay again if you have worked for a minimium of 12 months, (could be part time). Your new salary is based on the LAST 12 month average, so in theory you could be entitled to unemployment pay however the salary is 0!
