| | | JOB !! help help help I really want to have a job now! Where can i find one around Baden? I have visit RAV around 5 times, and check ALOT of places on internet. The problem is that everyone write that you have to speak SEHR GUT DEUTSCH! Im learning German everyday, Monday til Friday in Migro klub schule, right now im in B1 and have finished A1 and A2. I understand more or less everything in German, but i can not talk so good yet and write. I had a job here in Switzerland when I first was moving here, in a Swedish family in Zurich. But they was not so friendly so I was quit the job after 3 mounths. Im not a person who just wanna sit home and not work,I want to work and Im always give 100% on the work. For me it starts to be expensive to buy German courses when i dont have a job. And Im not looking for a Chef job, just a job, 1 or 50 h per week, dosent metter. Cleaning, take care of children, walk with dogs or something that is easy until I can speak better German and can get something else. Please help me with tips so I can do what i like the most .. Have you looked into places like McDonalds, Burger King etc. A lot of these kinds of places seem to be recruiting all the time.

Dog walkers/sitters and cleaners are always needed. Trouble with that is, your creating big gap on CV of seemingly doing nothing productive with your life towards a career, unless balancing with studying for something.
What do you want to do?
Why did you come here?
What experience do you have?

Have you looked at www.liliput.ch? You can make a profile or search for nanny/cleaning jobs. I think it is important to promote your strengths, but not appear desperate. You can say that you are very flexible and willing to do extra jobs, but you should come across as confident in your skills. Good luck!

Yes, I try to find a job like that, its better then no job at all, and at the same time learn more German and search better jobs. I want to use my time, and I feel better if I work some hours every day, even if its just a "shit job" ..Of course its not easy in the beginning, and I have to start with something.
I had a job when I was moving here, that was the reason why i took the step. It was in a Swedish Family as I was writing in my post earlier.
Im a cook and have work in sweden alot in restaurants and Hotels. I have also finished a cook school in Sweden.
I want to do alot, but Im happy if I can just find I job, a job I really like so I can stay in Swiss.. I will learn German til I can speak 100% , this is prio 1. But I need a small little job NOW....and I know that it is alot of jobs out there, I just have to find them | Quote: | | | | | Dog walkers/sitters and cleaners are always needed. Have you considered applying to Ikea? They have restaurants, and you speak Swedish and if you have a decent grasp of German that might be enough.
Are you staying with the family you used to work for still?

I have to tell something funny and a little bit "sick"...
I was search a job in a place close to where Im living, this is a privat place that take care of children, like a kindergarden.
She was send me an E-mail back and wrote that she was really interested and ask me when I could start work. I was happy when I was start to read the mail......BUT....then come the funny...sick tihing.. She was offer me 8 franken/hour....????!!?!?!!?
Maybe the most sick I have ever heard about. In Sweden this is not even legally to pay so less.
And you dont have to wurry...I was ofcourse send her an E-mail back, I was friendly and told her that I dont want the job.
Its funny, sad, crazy and a little bit sick.

Puppia, good luck with your job hunt,it seems like little jobs you are after are actually the easiest to find here..so I wouldn't be so worried.
8fr an hour one often gets as a nanny, per child! Sitting will earn you at least around 15fr. Get back to that lady, give her your price instead.
And a little friendly advice, run your emails through a spell check. You looking for a job,you need to be professional.
It will be ok. Bonne chance!

I have allready give her my price. But this is not the only job I can find, and I dont gonna give up of course.
I have also help with the spelling so this is no problem, and my CV and personal letter is in Deutsch. So I make it professional
I think that people in this forum understand my English, even if its not 100% | Quote: | | | | | Puppia, good luck with your job hunt,it seems like little jobs you are after are actually the easiest to find here..so I wouldn't be so worried.

Hi! Yeah, It's really hard to find a job here in Switzerland. Me, my husband and his friend arrived here 1 week ago. We all still looking for a job until now! We are all came from Italy. Is it really hard to find a job and everything here is so expensive. Hope we all could find a job now. Same to you too. Good luck!

Finding a job in Switzerland was a piece of cake 20 years ago, but not so much anymore.
Keep searching, and keep doing your language courses. Good luck | Quote: | | | | Hi! Yeah, It's really hard to find a job here in Switzerland. Me, my husband and his friend arrived here 1 week ago. Try and sign up with placement agencies in your area, and even if you find a job that's not in your region it might be worth travelling a little but still having a job.
Remember once you have a job nothing stops you from still searching for another one.

Most people do this for up to a year, then start a three-year apprenticeship. 3.5 days work, 1/5 days study, same low 'training' wage but the employer is paying for your studies, and a three year apprenticeship.
If you do two years on this low salary 'work experience' position then you can do a 'mature age' apprenticeship, and then you get paid a bit higher salary, and only have to study for two years to get your apprenticeship.
Once you are qualified, a child care worker gets 4500 - 6000 chf per month, for full time work. Still not the highest salary. Primary school teachers get a lot more...
Point is, if you aren't qualified, then the jobs are reserved for those who want to train - join the apprenticeship track etc.
How are you affording to live if you don't have a job ? I'd imagine that there are better job opportunities around Zurich than around Baden... how far have you looked ?
