When I took my CCNA (ahem... about 13 years ago
) it was only a 5 day course (ICND). My background then was general IT support and about 4 months previous experience in Cisco router and switch configuration and troubleshooting.
Perhaps give the course a call and see what they say?
I would recommend looking up some of the labs online or try and locate some old/secondhand equipment running IOS from somewhere. If you can be familiar with the commands, it will help with the course.
Also practice your binary and read up on subnets. You don't need a course to do this but it is very key to Networking.
Finally some places in the UK offer bootcamps but they aren't cheap either. However, some companies do offer last minute discounts if there are spare places.
