Advice needed - Swiss Employment Law query

Hi,

I am hoping someone kind on here can help me out OR point me in the right direction. I was employed by a company who has their registered office in Switzerland. My contract of employment is covered by Swiss law although I physically worked in other countries and the company itself actually works out of UAE with the office in Switzerland having only a handful of employees.

I was dismissed last month and I believe it was wrongful dismissal.

What I would like is some general advice on Swiss dismissal/appeal/disciplinary rights etc. I have tried to look on the internet but I am getting nowhere with that. Also can anyone recommend an employment solicitor that I can use?

I appreciate any help you may have. My personal email address is dunstan9@hotmail.co.uk.

Kind Regards

Dunstan

I'm no expert on these things, and hopefully someone who is will be along shortly, but in general you have no right of appeal. If they want to dismiss you, they don't actually need to have a reason. At all. Good, bad or indifferent.

BTW you should lose the email address from your post - I suspect a mod will do so shortly, but it's against forum rules.

If they gave you the correct notice, they are legal, end of story.

Re: Advice needed - Swiss Employment Law query

Tom is right, if they stick to your notice you have nothing to appeal against.

Unfair dismissal only exists if for instance you were on sick leave or pregnant, or were sacked because of your political opinions for instance, or race.

Even though you cannot get your job back, only limited financial compensation (up to a maximum of 6 months salary, in theory).

Sorry I do not have better news for you. I know in the UK it is different, used to live there.
