I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now, and today there's been a few posts somehow related to the issue; I also believe that there are a few people on this forum who can speak knowledgeably on the subject, so here I go: what is the job market like for quants in Switzerland? There is what I believe is a preconception that Switzerland is THE place for all that is related to banking, but the more I look into the topic and the more I get the impression that this is only half of the story... How do quant jobs in Switzerland compare to those offered in London, quality-wise? (I understand money is much better in London...)

There is a simple reply to this, and I am sure u probably know it too. Quant work, London. Quality of life, La Suisse.

Quant jobs may disappear to India. It is a back-office task. Customer secrecy is rarely impacted. Proximity to customer not a prerequisite. Lots of smart math and science grads in India. Career advice: look for front office opportunities.

Mmmm, this is something I've been thinking about too. There do seem to be a few quant jobs advertised in Switzerland. Is there anybody here doing such a job?
