Hi guys.

Could any of you help me out in compiling a list of potential employers for biologists in Switzerland, and particularly in the Geneva area? The domains of interest are mainly molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics.

So far I'm assuming some of the following companies might be suitable:

Geneva area

Firmenich
Givaudan
Ferring


Rest of Switzerland

Lonza
Novartis
Roche


I know there are many university research labs but I'm looking for other options as well.

Alas, the only biologist I know works as a marine biologist at the Milan Aquarium.

Probably the biggest employers are the universities.. ETH, and all canton levels. Switzerland a lso has a lot of government sponsored places like agroscope and wsl. These are mostly environmental or system biology, but they incorporate molecular work as well.

Try contacting a trade school... (again I only know Zurich- hochschule waedenswil) they would have contacts with a lot of other organizations and could probably give you a list.

Try Bioalps for a wealth of resources in the lake Geneva area.

Not sure if you'd be interested in the policy side, but the Maison Internationale de l'Environnement (International Environment House) in Chatelaine hosts a number of environmental UN agencies and NGOs, a handful of which would be more or less related to your knowledge set.
