Any Credit Suisse employees here?

I have an impending interview with Credit Suisse (well three interviews in one afternoon!!!), are there any Credit Suisse employees on this forum reading this?

If you are please message me as I want to do my homework on the company, from web research it sounds good but I would like an employees opinion please.

Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Any Credit Suisse employees here?

CS/UBS are big banks, you'd need to be more specific about which area you'd work in and what your profession is.

Also what do you value in a company? What constitutes "good"?

N.B. Don't forget this is public and future co-workers could be reading it.

Re: Any Credit Suisse employees here?

Thank you Peachy, I am in the Business Analysis/Business Systems Analysis side of things if that helps anybody but I would rather not give too much about what "I" value in a company at this stage as I do not want to bias any respondee's before they contact me.

I suppose being an analyst makes me that way, it is the way I am built .

I am more interested in the general "culture" of the organisation.

Thanks again for your extraordinarily quick response.

Eeeek!

Well two private messages in as many minutes is enough of a shock.

For Peachy - Asset Management from what I recall, it was not clear on the job advert. Looking forward to the interview anyway.

Re: Any Credit Suisse employees here?

My husband started working with CS at the beginning of January. So far, the experience has been great. His co-workers are knowledgeable, and he enjoys working with each one of them. He feels he has much to contribute to the group, yet the work is also challenging.

Good luck with your interview!

Re: Any Credit Suisse employees here?

Do you need to speak German to work at Credit Suisse?

I was thinking of applying for a job there, but my German is not fluent, but I am a native English speaker (not that that seems to count for anything in Switzerland :P)

Hi,

Are you an English guy from Biel?

I believe that after the HR interview you will be interviewing with me.

Maybe you could ask me any questions you might have?

Depends on the job I suppose. I've just landed a job at Credit Suisse, and my German isnt really fluent yet. I imagine that even if you dont need German for the job, it would be a good idea to learn it (and to emphasize that on your application etc).

Whilst we are on the subject, on my first day I have to go to some kind of Credit Suisse introduction day. Can anyone tell me what goes on, the format, what to expect etc?

Re: Any Credit Suisse employees here?

Induction day is fun.. no stress.

You get to play with an F1 car and then get told about a no smoking policy. Half decent food and drinks.

Enjoy!! I was one of the first to go through it about 4 years ago.

Sounds positive. I might apply for a job there, I'm going to email the recruitment contact to find out if fluent German is a requirement for the job that Im looking at. The advertisement doesn't specify, it says "Strong German, Italian or English", however it the advertisement itself is in German.

No harm in asking I guess, I dont want to write a cover letter for nothing

The Business language at CS and UBS is English. Normally English is all that is required unless it is a client (or supplier) facing role, or a support function in which you might be required to talk to internal employees in their own language.
