Contract in 1 of the Swiss languages

Hi

I am working for a company with a UK base and a Swiss company attached. Can the employees request the contract be in one of the 4 Swiss national languages? Ie would this actually be a legal requirement that we have a Swiss contract written in German instead of English if the employee requested?

Thanks for any info.

Re: Contract in 1 of the Swiss languages

Our contracts are in German and English. From the contracts I see normally the language of the country the company is in is legally binding and the other language is a "translation version only". So I would suppose that it can be requested.
But then I am not a lawyer so this is from experience only.

Re: Contract in 1 of the Swiss languages

Leaving aside possible exceptions (public employees, collective bargaining agreements, some public deeds, etc.), the language of a contract is up to the parties.
