Hiring employees

Does anyone on here hire employees and look after the admin side of doing so (insurance, payroll taxes etc.)?

I'm looking at hiring a low level employee and wondering how big the admin is if you do it yourself or how much it costs to outsource that admin to someone else (I'm guessing it could be significant compared to a salary for an entry level employee).

I employed a chap for a year. He had a C permit so no Quellensteuer. I just informed the SVA of his salary, and my relevant insurers and company pension provider. I then constructed a spreadsheet to keep track of his pay and deductions using the published figures. At year end, I filled in a Lohnausweiss.

Even with Quellensteuer it's not rocket science - You determine the figure from the tables and send the relevant amount to the tax authorities.

We do it ourselves for L, B, and C permit holders and it's not a lot of work or very difficult
