It's quite useful in finance to be able to add up small numbers in your head.....

As in I'm an aspiring pilot => meaning not qualified.... if so then you are going to have an up hill struggle without German as you will be competing with the locals...

And presumably permit issues. As non-EU with little experience very difficult.

Re: Finance Job

Not sure why so many sceptical/negative answers. There are a lot of Indian nationals in the finance sector. A vast majority works in IT, but also in other departments. I know of Indians who work in finance, controlling, legal and compliance, and in front-office roles. With very little or no German language.
You need to find a large multinational company. Everything else is up to your skills/experience and how you sell yourself.
With the global economic growth shifting towards Asia, the opportunities for people with local knowledge will increase.

Re: Finance Job

Hi SKD

The Indian ACA is not recognized in Switzerland. However, there is a reasonable demand for SAP trained / qualified people in various accounting functions.

Permit issues are a different thing altogeather!!

Have you actually tried to get a permit for a non-EU, with no specialist skills and who does not speak the language? If they are not here on some kind of dependent visa it is a non starter.

The other thing is that OP is not in a position to offer expertise in any area of accounting because they are not qualified even in their own country! The most likely type of position the OP is suited for right now is some kind of bookkeeping or accounts clerk role and for that one needs knowledge of the local law and accounting rules togeather with language skills.

As for Asian growth, demographics alone suggest that it is very unlikely to ever reach the expectations of most forecasters and even if it does, the demand on this side will be for qualified and experienced staff not bookkeeping and accounts clerks.

As you said yourself it depends on skills and experience and that is exactly what is the issue in this case - the OP will be going up against the local talent, with nothing special to offer.

Re: Finance Job

Do you have CPA or ACCA? If no, you should obtain it because it's crucial.
There is a huge demand for qualified accountants speaking English only with CPA / ACCA and experience of 3-5 years in a multinational company (key words in bold).
A good website with English interface for the job search is www.indeed.ch . Examples of jobs from there that might be of interest to you:

But you have to know instinctively when an error has been made & the answer the computer gives is wrong. Otherwise you looking for a data entry clerk.
