Work/study options in Ch for Australian

I'm keen to get insights and ideas on coming to Switzerland from Australia to work or study. My questions span work, study and visas but hopefully I can knock off all topics in this thread. My partner is going to do a PhD in Zurich and I will be following. So I'm scoping out what I can do with myself there. I'm open to either office- or home-based work or I could happily study a masters.

Work
My expertise is in Asia engagement/analysis. I've worked with government and a research institute. Any Asia-oriented companies or organisations in Zurich that could be looking talent in this area? Not the most high-demand field in the world but who knows.

Study
Any good schools with Asia programs? Scholarships?

Visas
Options? I'm under 30 with a bachelor's degree. I'm an Australian citizen; my partner is an EU national. Unfortunately Oz there isn't a working holiday agreement between Switzerland.

Feel free to mention anything of relevance. The Swiss folks I have met have been lovely and given me a great impression of the place. Zurich and Switzerland look gorgeous and I'm excited about checking it out

Option 1 - get married. Otherwise things for non-EU are even more difficult. Of course there is still a small chance that they could tell you that a PhD salary isn't high enough to support 2 people, but it should work.

Option 2 - find a job. This could be tricky because they essentially have to show they can't find anyone else in the whole of Switzerland, nor the whole of Europe who can do the job.

Option 3 - get accepted into a Masters program and come on a student visa. This would certainly work for a PhD, but not sure how easy it is for a Masters....guess it should work.

Option 4 - come as a tourist for 90 days every 180 days.
