Cover letter

Hello all,

First of all , thank you for advance. Well I have a problem with a cover letter which I should do in german. Could Someone to help me to translate? Please find below:

I address you with all due respect in response to offer of employment which you are looking for a Manager.

I am 30 years old and I am Industrial engineer. I am working in the Engineering Field for the last seven years developing projects for HOME AG, TABLE AG. In the area of interior design . Currently I am working as Team leader managing projects of electricty system, mechanical systems of Homes, Hotels and Hospitals, leading a team of 16 engineers to achieve ambitious goals in all projects. I have deep Knowledge in tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks

I am a professional with features such as good organization, security ,confidence in teamwork. And enduring to work under pressure. My almost six years of experience have made known differents fields of the industry, so I have the certainty that I would have not problem to adapt in this new professional adventure which I see very helpful and a great opportunity, I am used to working with customers relationship and above all getting their satisfaction, I have an advanced level of English, then there would not be problem using it as a working tool.

Why would you do a job application cover letter in a language you don't speak?

If they want a German language cover letter, then either it's a requirement for the job or they have a poor recruitment setup.

If the company language is supposed to be English, which your letter indirectly suggests, then personally I'd do the letter in English - if they reject it, chances are the company is less English/more German speaking than they say and you could have a problem.

I agree with this, send it in English; but would like to add that you should have it proofread by a native English speaker before sending it. The "advanced level of English" which you mention in the cover letter isn't really reflected in its contents.

The letter was clearly written in another language, the opening paragraph is a disaster......nobody in HR will read any more.
