Newcomer - advice wanted

I'm moving to Switzerland from London in July with my girlfriend who has a job at UEFA and wondered how easy it is to find work and what other people's experiences are of job hunting?

We will be based in Lausanne near Nyon and Geneva.

My French isn't great so I expect to have to improve that but I am hoping to find English speaking work. I have begun to look at JobsinGeneva and GlobalSportsJobs. I'm currently employed as a journalist but open to change.

There might be the possibility of working remotely for English companies but I think I would prefer to socialise, integrate and meet people.

Any advice or hints and tips you can share would be welcome. This will be my first time living outside of the UK and it is all a bit daunting!

Re: Newcomer - advice wanted

Frankly, not going to be easy at all. The only English publications here that I know of are Swiss News and Swiss Info. Their websites are here:

http://www.swissnews.ch/

http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng

Swiss News seems to be dead as it hasn't been updated since they printed their last paper copy a year ago.

Oh and of course, EF's owners, The Local may be another possible work option: www.thelocal.ch English stories in many European countries so check them out too.
