Unemployment benefits for non EU'er

Dear all,

I don't get any social help&support from Switzerland because before I didn't work in Switzerland and I am not an EU citizen. I have work permit B and I would like to make some certificates like Agile or VCP5. Because of long term unemployment status I have a bit financial problems so I can not realize it.

If I demand from RAV to support my certificates, can I do that? If yes, what kind of strategy should I follow? I believe that some IT certificates makes eaiser to find a job.

any opinions?

Do you have a computer science degree? otherwise it's difficult to get into IT.

In my experience Swiss like to hire experts, just having certificates is not enough.

Even with certificates, without experience, it will be tough - not to mention that more and more employers are now demanding some level of German.

You don't demand anything from RAV. You ask very nicely if they would support you taking some classes to re-train in another field. Then see if they will pay for the classes, or if they will at least let you out of the requirement to look for X jobs whilst you are taking the classes.

I suspect the person speaks a language like French, so the OP likely means ask the RAV.

Unless they have paid contributions for more than 12 months they won't get any support at all.

I will try my chance. Maybe RAV is not correct communication partner but I have to try. I have Computer Engineering degree, more than 10 years IT experience and some IT certificates. But I have difficulties to find job.
