Actually that might not be so weird...did you also get catalogues with ready meals from a German company? I used to get one every month for some time, one or two times a guy came and asked if we would like something and tried to present their products. (I totally forgot about this)
I have the feeling that it wasn't so successful though, but they were selling something else. I'm not sure how well or if Avon is even known here? (back home it was quite popular)
Nope, never had anything like that around here. We get mail order catalogues in the post from companies like VAC and House and Hobby, but nothing delivered personally followed by someone knocking on the door a day or two later.

Yet another entirelywrong statement. ..licence to go door to door. ..chuckle.
I just wondered, as I hadn't seen people selling door to door here, might need a licence to do so.

Clue: the men are never invited. Of course we won't complain if you post pictures on the forum.

That's a great suggestion, but with a husband who is a Muslim it's never ever ever going to be an option!!!!!!

hi everyone,

I've been thinking of ways that I can work from home.

In UK I sold Avon and Betterware.... yes I was one of those annoying catalogue people LOL!!

Could anyone advise me on this in Zurich please?
Do you know if they do this over here and if so which company would be the best to join?

I have time and energy so I can throw myself into any project wholeheartedly.

many thanks.
OP,

Yesterday I've seen a magazine/cosmetics catalogue at hairdressers' and picked one of the leaflets. As I already said, I don't know if Avon is even known here, but the Swiss have their own companies which practice this type of commerce..
I thought about you (well, someone on EF who was in need of making a few bucks/have a lucrative activity... believe me I understand very well how frustrating might be to be unemployed)
There is this company - Déesse AG who functions in a similar way with Avon (although have noticed they don't sell only cosmetics, but also supplements/vitamins etc).
http://www.deesse.com/en/index.php?navID=1
So, you might want to write them at info@deesse.ch for more info
Their phone number is - 044 929 65 65
Address: Industriestrasse 10 CH-8618 Oetwil am See.
They advertise themselves along the line of "Wir bieten Frauen die Chance, sich in selbständiger Tätigkeit - ohne Eigenkapital - eine Existenz mit Zukunft aufzubauen". You'll probably can make about 500-600 chf/a month but hey, it's a start.
Hope it helps. Good luck.
Btw. I'm not affiliated in any form or shape with this company (cannot relate anything from personal experience), it was just a piece of info I came across with and though could be useful for a few ladies out there.
