Selling AVON etc from home????

hi everyone,

I've been thinking of ways that I can work from home.

In UK I sold Avon and Betterware.... yes I was one of those annoying catalogue people LOL!!

Could anyone advise me on this in Zurich please?
Do you know if they do this over here and if so which company would be the best to join?

I have time and energy so I can throw myself into any project wholeheartedly.

many thanks.

Re: Selling AVON etc from home????

I'm planning on transferring my usborne books business over here from the UK, as usborne allows it's organisers to sell within Europe. Not sure how successful it'll be yet, but if you're interested I could send you more info?

I'm in basel so wouldn't be treading on your toes, just let me know. Not sure what other companies sell over here.

Roz

Re: Selling AVON etc from home????

Firstly, you'd probably need some sort of licence to go door-to-door I think. And secondly, that sort of selling isn't really done here in case you hadn't noticed. How are you going to communicate with your customers too? If you don't speak German/French/Italian, the catalogue itself is in English, how is this supposed to work? English speaking customers only?

Tupperware works very well around here, but you must be able to build up a solid clientele, so big network needed.

Yes, but Tupperware have a base here, neither Avon or Betterware do. May or may not make a difference, I don't know.

So the market is wide open then.

English speaking customers only?
That might well be viable, depending on target earnings.

Re: Selling AVON etc from home????

Depends if the Swiss and other residents here like people dropping catalogues into their postboxes and then ringing their doorbells to see if they want to order something. Don't know what it's like in the cities, but here in our village, apart from a few migrants trying to sell things like carpets and teacloths occasionlly, we don't get anyone knocking on our doors to sell stuff.

Actually that might not be so weird...did you also get catalogues with ready meals from a German company? I used to get one every month for some time, one or two times a guy came and asked if we would like something and tried to present their products. (I totally forgot about this)
I have the feeling that it wasn't so successful though, but they were selling something else. I'm not sure how well or if Avon is even known here? (back home it was quite popular)

Hi, I was hoping to target the KT and Speilgruppe Mum's that I know, I also live on a very large estate with apartments galore and my face is pretty well known through the children. I also speak Turkish very well and there's a large community here so I know that I would have customers there!!!
We have family here so they would help me with any problems etc so I have a thoughtout customer base!!! But thankyou for your comment as indeed you are right.
