Hi All......it has been a while.
I left Switzerland almost 2 years ago and moved to Canada with my spouse. Things did not plan out as expected so I am looking at my options.
Staying in Canada, move to Denmark (I am Danish) or move to Switzerland again.
Prior to leaving I had been in Switzerland for 4 years and 4 month and I was working for the whole period.
The question is: Am I entitled to unemployment benefit if I move back to Switzerland?
I know the following applies for a Swiss citizen but I cannot find anything that mention folks like myself.
If you were employed in a non-member state of the EU/EFTA, you
will be covered by unemployment insurance in Switzerland after your return.
The conditions are as follows:
- You must have lived abroad for more than one year
- You must have been gainfully employed for at least 12 months during the past two years
- You have to present confirmation from the employer of the duration of your employment
- You have to claim entitlement within one year after your return or entry into Switzerland
