I worked with silage in a lab for a while (trying to find a superabsorbent so it could be used as cow food). I always had a seat to myself on the bus,
I worked unloading fresh fish in Australia for a few days. I smelt so much I was too embarrassed to get on the bus.

Well fortunately I don't 'need' one as I am already paid to stay at home.
Where does one apply for that kind of job?

Re: Working in Mcdonalds

I worked in a mushroom farm as a student - cutting them from the trays of manure - no, it didn't make me a fun guy.

The worst job though was cleaning the Mens in the pub I used to work in - which were, I'm guessing, the ones that were put in when it was built - 100 years previously!

Well, to be honest with all the cost cutting at the big banks (no names mentioned), it's pretty easy - just be qualified, be issued a laptop and headset and you're ready to go

I didn't apply for it. I was working, then I was off sick, but was told in the meantime I could stay at home and continue to be paid... my employer arranged it for me.

From a food safety perspective, McDonalds is most likely the safest of the three

Re: Working in Mcdonalds

I worked at Mcdonalds. To be precise, at Mcdonalds Enge. You cannot work 100% there, you can only work 17 hours per week. You would need some extra internal education to get a full-time job. Or you need a higher education in gastronomy.
The pay is 21 chf gross per hour. I was on an L permit at that time, so my netto pay was about 12 chf per hour. You do not eat for free there but you get to buy everything for half the price. Oh, and there is no discount on the cheesburgers as they are apparently already cheap. I have to tell you, i only lasted for a couple of months. I really did not like it. But even if i did like it, i would not have been able to survive with that money. If you would like to try it, bare in mind that you might have to have another job to be able to pay all of your bills.

Lots of jobs are horrible. They're still a living, though.

Most of us here on the forum have paid our dues by working shitty, dead end jobs. That's what life is like at the bottom of the ladder. But eventually, with persistence, hard work and a lot of luck, some of us make it out of the pit.

But you can't get out if you don't start climbing.
