Job for an F permit Holder

My friend is an F permit holder and just recently lost his job while on the process of acquiring a B permit. Do you have any suggestions where F permit holders can find some job in order for them to convert their permit into a B permit? Thanks

Re: Job for an F permit Holder

Currently the jobmarket is pretty tight, even when you got a c permit.
When you don't fit in the description (profile) at least at 90 % it does not make sense, to apply.
The other factor is the age of the applicant, most jobs are offered unti you are 35, less up to 45 and only a few up to 50.
If he is on an F-Permit, how are his language skills ?

If the OP's friend is planning on going to the RAV, to get unemployment benefits he needs to apply for a minimum of 10 jobs a month.
Finding 10 jobs a month that is a perfect fit won't always be possible. It's likely many jobs will be fairly unsuitable but the law in CH says you must be prepared to do ANY work, so it's not allowed to only apply for 'suitable' jobs.

Re: Job for an F permit Holder

As the OP didn't mention whether the F permit holder has any marketable skills and interests and also whether he speaks a national language, it is difficult to point him in a specific direction. However, would suggest googling on "jobs flüchtling schweiz", "jobs asylant schweiz", "praktikum asylant schweiz", etc. to locate at least some jobs being offered specifically to asylum-seekers/ refugees.

If your friend is not well-integrated, e.g., doesn't speak a national language, lack of marketable skills, he might want to enroll in an "integrationskurs". SRF broadcast a documentary on one for the gastro industry at this link:

Re: Job for an F permit Holder

Contact the HR of the companies, the description gives no clue, if they hire
somebody with an F-Permit.
