The appointment was supposed to be on 10, I received the letter in 11, I called after receiving the letter (11) and on 12 I went to the new appointment!
I do everything right and on time, I don't know why is she always so arrogant with me...i also asked for the german course and she says that she just simple will not give it to me because I have level A1, and it's enought! :/ sorry but WTF!??

yes I understand, but I didn't saw correctly the day on the paper...everyone can make mistakes...sometimes I think that people should me more human, it's about the money and punishment...I'm not in RAV because I want, it's because I can't find a job, and with my baby even more difficult, employers don't want mothers with babys, if the baby is see, she can't go to work...
Yes and normally people are human. The RAV however, is NOT human. Its basically like trying to reason with a computer. And trust me, computer says NO.

Go the gym and lift some heavy weights while silently cursing RAV and then dream of that sweet, sweet moment when you can tell RAV to f-ck off because you have a job. If you dont go the gym, punching the mattress also helps (just dont do it after 22 or between 11-13 during the day).

Good grief. It's hard to believe that amnesty's been granted. I thought that it was premature April Fools' announcement.

Welcome back porsch

The thing is that RAV is really a generous system, even putting monetary part aside. All that is required from its candidates, is to follow their requests and a bit of discipline on the candidates part. One doesn't really need to be either a top educated individual or a rocket scientist but you need to follow their straightforward rules, which are well explained anyway. The courses and seminars that they offer are designed in such way that the unemployed candidates are kept busy networking, applying for jobs and get more certifications which in the long run are aimed to let them seamlessly return to the job market. Also social and psychological element to it, otherwise one would procrastinate, become self-complacent, perhaps desperate and frustrated with oneself, yet losing self esteem and ability to find a meaningful place in a society.

It's a slim job market situation afterall to be blamed on at the moment and it makes no sense to vent one's anger on the RAV that tries to help, but rather cooperate together.

I get your point but lets not forget it is an insurance, who's premiums you've paid yourself from your salary. Would you be grateful to the "generosity" of the insurance company if they refunded your house that burnt down?

The way I see it, its my money they are spending on me.

However, it IS a good system, i dont think there is anything equal in the world. You get top money, courses, coaching, etc for 400 days. Its not a bad deal at all.

If it is YOUR money then surely you'd want it to be spent only on an extremely selective and strict basis with no leniency whatsoever so as to discourage any abuse ?

Re: Didn't go to the Appointment with RAV

Unfortunately "I was really stressed that day" isn't really a valid reason for missing an appointment. And at the end of the day, it will be the Arbeitslosenkasse who will cut down your payments.
They are really strict with their rules, so I probably wouldn't even try to discuss it with them unless you really have a good reason why you missed your appointment.
