Because the OP gave more information in the meantime and he adjusted his figures to fit in with her input?
Nope, the OP only added info on "what she wanted" not on why she could be in the position to get...

Which was what Burner was attempting to provide...

I'd say this sounds about right for what would be a VP position... possibly 150k + bonus. However, I am not sure she can expect her kids education paid for a managers position (delighted to be proven wrong, however).
I would agree.. VP is only two steps up from the ground
(professional ground level)

Highly doubt private education would be provided as a perk. Couple of months accom, reloc agent, moving costs yes..

I don't get your comments.
On 1 post you suggest 120K, then immediately after you suggest 160K.

The jump seems rather significant, why?
160 was negotation sta4ting point.
You cant afford two kids in expensive school on 120

...the issue is that "manager" could be about everything, from an entry level IT job to a top-level job. Note that if you are not a Chief, Head or Lead, it is most likely not a top-level job
I was a "Head of" in a pharma company, with staff reporting to me and budgetary control and the like - yet still on a staff grade (admittedly the top one). Lead in IT can mean "The most senior in the team, but not quite the formal team leader".

Hi,
I'll have about 5 - 8 people from what I understand, and it's in the finance sector, the company is a multinational company. Does that help?
No, but the name of the company would do though.

I really really doubt you have any chance to get the education allowance. (judging by your own description of the position you are going to take up )
As for the salary, is rather above the median income for this field, hope you do have arguments when you'll negotiate. Good luck.

Education for bilingual schools would cost about 50K a year.
180K is too high even as an opener, try 160K, with floor of 140K? Instead. Especially considering you want expensive education.

Advise, if kids are below 8 years of age, put them in local free school.
They will learn German easily and how to culturally integrate, money cannot buy that.
Besides international schools are full of snot nose jerk's, who bug out regularly. Life long friendships cannot form.
Edited to add:
Teenage kids? Hmmmm 13 is too old, stick to international plan/idea.
Initial year is 60K, 50K each year after. That's out of your net salary.
You will pay approx 20% at source. And do a tax return annually. Not sure if education is a tax deductable.
Yes, teens and new language with all the hormone stuff going on may not be the best idea! I'll aim for 160k and see what they say, this is all very new to me, I have been in the same position for a number of years and haven't relocated outside of Canada ever so still in the learning phase... Thank you for all the pointers!!!

160k, education, accomodation support, moving, bonus 10-20% per year.

Health is not normal as a package aside from accident
Awesome, very helpful to know that health isn't part of the package usually... thanks!

- 180,000 ch - because I know they will push back
Depends on whether you're on a management grade. It's entirely possible to have manager in the job title and have staff and still not be on a management grade. Still, seems rather high for me for the job description.

- health
no

- education for bilingual schools
Yes - bear in mind that the cost would be part of your income, so you'd be taxed on the benefit

- accommodation for 3 months
yes

- moving costs
yes
Thanks, that's really helpful to know!

Are you in Switzerland? From what you're saying, it sounds like you're not but you put your location as Zürich. To me, it sounds like you're not here yet.

What is a "bilingual school"? You mean international school? For both kids?

Your salary may be ITRO 150-160k. Did the company come looking for you or did you find them?
I am not in Switzerland, sorry, thought the location meant where I was to be relocated if it all went through. Anyways, they came looking for me. Bilingual/international - I didn't know they were different... good to know, thanks.

keep in mind that 180k + health + international school for two children adds up to a 250k fixed gross. this is pretty steep but if the role is very senior, it might as well be possible.

the issue is that "manager" could be about everything, from an entry level IT job to a top-level job. Note that if you are not a Chief, Head or Lead, it is most likely not a top-level job
I will try to find out more on what the position is about later in the week, then depending on the seniority I'll throw a number - and just see if it sticks?

Yes, I'm working on a list of points on why I'm selecting that as my salary expectation. And yes, I know the name would be helpful, if only I could!

Re: Cyber Security Manager Salary

Go for what you want. Once you are in a company getting a raise is very difficult.
Large corps pay well, so name your figure and conditions.
The salary is already in a predetermined range, and they would probably want to pay you near the bottom of the range so there is some uplift in years to come, you want to get in the middle if you can.
The negotiation is nothing personal, so don't think you'll be offending anyone by shooting high.
Cyber security sounds like it should pay well.
If I had to say a figure, it would be 160 or above basic salary. Don't forget that they will want their pound of flesh, a job in head office comes with responsibilities. You may also want to see if you clock in/out. If you don't then say goodbye to overtime or days in lieu.

You don't mention if you have a partner and if they are working.
It's possible they will not be able to work/find a position here, factor this in.
Also selling cars where you are and buying a new one here, etc etc.
Also if it goes t1ts up you'll have to pay your own way back home.

There's a lot to think about!

The main thing is to secure the job offer, then when it's in the bag, make your decision or negotiate extras/more. Don't sound wooly until it's in writing.

ps, they should also give you a cash payment for moving to compensate for furniture and out of pocket expenses. My place pay 10k, but it's taxable.
Good luck!
