Illness confirmation from the doctor outside Switzerland

Hey folks, Im preparing for the surgery and will need time to recover. I'm working for a swiss university, but the problem is that my surgery is going to take place in Russia. Can I translate the illness confirmation and use it in my work? What's the process looks like?

Ask your company if they will accept it.

Are you saying that you already have a date planned for the op and your employer still doesn't know about it?

a) there's this thing called asking them... Simple, really. There's no general process.
b) if you already know when you have the surgery - and it seems you do - why didn't you tell them when you arranged it? Tell them now, that's actually an obligation you have as an employee.

Do you pay for it yourself or is it such an exotic illness that the Swiss Krankenkasse pays for it (= easy to prove the need = time off payed)

As you're Russian (those profiles are helpful sometimes) you obviously have a reason to have things done there (=it will make sense to employer)

As the other said: The first thing to do is to just ask. Unless you feel embarrassed about it .... but you don't have to give details.
If it's a beauty op you don't get payed leave though.

How ever: Udači for the surgery.

If your employer is fine, no worries.
Health insurance: depends on what you have. Have had operations done abroad but then I have extra insurance for that. So make sure beforehand you are covered for that? Good luck!
