short term job in zurich?

hi, i am a swiss student from tessin, the italian part of switzerland. my english is way better than my german, so that is why i am here.
long story short, i wanted to do my civil service (zivildienst) in zurich, as next year i am going to frequent the kunsthochschule. but i was not declared suitable. so, i have already booked an house, but my parents have not enough money to sustain me there doing nothing. sooo i am searching for a job to do that year (starting this august, until the begin of the next school year), while i blend in and i learn german. i am also doing a complaint to be declared suitable, so i may still end up doing my civil service. that eventuality makes it so the job needs to be short term, like based on a monthly schedule.
reassuming:
- monthly based job
- starting from 1 august till next school year
- not high-level german required

my skills:
- decent english (im preparing for the oxford exam)
- italian mothertongue
- physically strong
- artistic basic formation
- really basic german (hochdeutsch, nicht schwiizertüttsch)
and my experiences include
- working in restaurants/bars/pubs
- work in a construction site, both rural and modern
- working in alimentar processing industry
- stuff such as selling tickets

thank you so much, i have really little experience in job searching so your helping hand can really do a lot.

bye bye

I'm not really able to help you, but I wish you good luck. You sound like a very nice young person!

Maybe you find something here http://www.students.ch/jobs/?ref=hom...eateasers-jobs

Wish you luck and don't be sad about not getting in. Try other places, too. I didn't like ZHdK much when I was studying at the music department till last summer.

Lots of bragging and self-glorification going on, faculty was just a heap of not very gifted people with inflated egos. They all were sort of "related" since forever and if you said something they were not happy with, all of them turned against you. Big mean family.

But I was lots older than you. I remember that when I did my bachelors, I was far less critical, being young and inexperienced. Which may be a good thing though!

Thank you marischi, i can really make use of that website. And also thanks for the information, as i am a bit of a shy guy, knowing already how does it works kind of calms me. Btw i am being sponsored and i have excellent grades, so i have pretty much a safe place in there (or so i was said)

Hi roegner,
I don't have a place yet, but as i already said my spot is pretty much safe. I even got a sponsor, a local fundation who promotes the most promising students around.
For the civil service, i'll try to explain:
In switzerland, civil service is part of the army. So, after the recruitment, one has 3 possibilities: able, unable, and unrecruitable (severely disabled). I had sone cases of sleep walking, that won't prevent me from doing civil service (u don't sleep on your workplace) but it prevents me from doing military service (ypu do sleep in the barracks). End of the story, i couldn't do the second and therefore not even the first, even tough being eligible. That is why i am filling the complaint, that module allows you to be judged basing upon a specifical function instead of basing on the whole thing.

I hope that was clear, it is so stupid that i struggle to explain it in my own language
