Zurich Tax for frontalier

Hi

I just got a job offer near zurich but live over the border on French side near Basel.

I have heard that other people in this situation have to pay tax in Zurich not in France, does anyone know if this is true? If so, what rate of tax would it be? I am a single parent with one kid.

You would pay tax in Zurich if you move there ... basically, in most cases, taxes are due where you live.
If you continue living in France and have the job in Zurich, you would still pay (most of your) taxes in France.
Social security works slightly differently and depends on specific situation; typically it is payable where you work.

Re: Zurich Tax for frontalier

Withholding tax in ZH followed by a tax return in France & potentially further taxes. If you have loads of kids French tax is not high, if your single earning 120K it will be very high.

Re: Zurich Tax for frontalier

Hi,

You will pay your taxes in Zurich; except for the taxe d'habitation (or foncière) which you will have to pay in France. So approximately 5% in Zurich.

This is an agreement between France and Switzerland for people who work in Zurich or Geneva and live in France. If you work in another canton you would have to pay your taxes in France.

Hope this helps.
