Employing a baby-sitter without AHV/ALV

Hi
My wife and I would like to employ a baby-sitter (approx. 14 hours / week). The baby-sitter would like to have a formal contract with us, and we are OK with this. The contract will be for 6 months.

For this, do I need to make sure that the baby-sitter has an AHV/ALV number?

Request any clarification.

Regards,
amit711

Yes, you will also have to sign her up at the SVA and pay social security contributions for her.

Depending on nationality and permit status you also need to make sure they are actually allowed to work here.

You added 'without AHV/ALV' later didn't you? It is illegal to employ house personnel, including babysitters (with the exception if they are under 25 and earn less than 750CHF per year), without paying AHV/ALV contributions.
