Medical Residency Program

Hello everyone, I hope I could find some answers and help in this forum . I am a medical doctor (non-EU graduate) who just moved to Zurich, I have contacted the The Commission on Medical Professions (MEBEKO) and they provided me with information on Diploma recognition hence obtaining The Swiss Federal Diploma, so I am already working on it.
My question is, does anyone have an experience on getting into residency program here in Zurich or the surrounding cantons especially for general internal medicine or surgery. How competitive it is to get into a residency program in Switzerland (after completion of certificate recognition) and how long does it take for general medicine and surgery training program to be completed.
Thank you

If you are scheduled for the 2017 state exams, make sure to join the Staatsverein, that is where they provide all the detailed answers.

Re: Medical Residency Program

Hello to everyone. It's my first year as a medical student at Sofia Medical University (i wish to specify i'm Bulgarian, thus a EU citizen).I'd like to know what my chances of entering a residency program in Switzerland would be after i graduate here.I'm fluent in German and possess a TestDaF certificate with a grade of B2/C1.Also,could anyone guide me through the process of applying for residency in Switzerland?Any insight would be appreciated.
