We are investigating "Pattern Making" opportunities/job prospects in Switzerland - seems to be a dead end but a bit early in the process.

Anybody know the general situation re employment prospects in this field for Switzerland? A little, a lot, does not exist?

Also, can anybody recommend a University/College that offers fashion/pattern making type courses anywhere in Switzerland?

I can't comment on employment prospects, but there is a "Swiss Textile College", with locations in St. Gallen, Wattwil and Zürich.

I don't know much about it (only know about it as I've often walked past the one in Zürich, between the swimming areas on the Letten river), but found their website if it's any use:

The background is my wife has an interest (and talent) in fashion and designing, and decided to do a course in pattern making - assuming she can find such a thing in Switzerland.

Looking forward beyond such a course, we are wondering what are the prospects / demand for this in Switzerland.

Hi Migros Klubschule (http://www.klubschule.ch) also offers some courses. Please type in "M-Art" for search. Their courses are offered in German. I wish there were any in English.

I am looking for any possible job here in Zurich and i have a B permit. I am almost 2 years now here in switzerland and a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology (4 yr. course) I can speak already the basic german as well and i am very open in any job offered specially in english speaking field.
