Well I'm not the OP, but was also wondering the same question. Any rough ideas (and I realise they will be rough) for someone just finished a PhD, no industrial experience yet, going into their first job either in big pharma or a little startup?

Salary for Scientist 1 is between 100,000chf and 110,000 (will depend on experience etc). No free lunches, little chance of a parking space at the above mentioned company and you'll hate the building!

Thanks! I was estimating 80,000 since I dont have much industrial experience and I will probably be applying more for small startups that may not have so much money. So sounds like it should be that or a bit more.

I know from experience that fresh out of a PhD you should expect closer to CHF 80,000. You should consider anything more a bonus. If you get offered more than CHF 120k, then consider yourself overpaid and enjoy it while it lasts!
